General FAQs
Do you offer free consultations?
Consultation policies vary depending on the nature of the matter. In many matters, we provide a brief initial consultation without charge. Please contact us to discuss your situation.
Does contacting the firm create an attorney-client relationship?
No. An attorney-client relationship is formed only after a conflict check and written engagement agreement.
How do we get started as a client of Vinson Law Firm PC?
The first step is to contact us by phone or email with a brief description of your situation and legal needs. We will also want to know the names of any individuals or entities that may have interests that are adverse to your interests, so that we can ensure that we do not have a conflict of interest. To move forward, we will need you to sign a legal services agreement that spells out the scope of services and fees involved in the representation. In most matters, we require an advance retainer before commencing services.
How are fees structured?
We charge fixed fees for predictable engagements, such as entity formation, estate plans, start-up franchise disclosure documents and state franchise registrations. We charge hourly fees for most other matters because the amount of attorney time involved is difficult to predict. We can estimate the range of potential fees for most projects.
Can you work with me if I am not in Incline Village NV or Wichita Falls TX?
Yes, we routinely meet with clients via online virtual meetings and by phone. We usually prefer to communicate with clients by email, to ensure that our advice is clearly conveyed and that there is a record of our communications. Telephone calls with us are best scheduled in advance by email, in order to avoid phone tag.
